victoria SharePoint User Group –
summary of February 21, 2013 meetup
The vSharePoint User Group February 2013 Meetup was attended by 13 individuals passionate about SharePoint and the success of online collaboration tools. The spirited discussion started immediately upon the arrival of the first guests including some of the tips and tricks to overcome typical frustrations faced with any new system deployment.
The first presenter of the evening, Richard Strum of Nintex – the world’s leading SharePoint workflow company – explained just how easy it is to automate routine tasks through the construction of SharePoint workflows using the Nintex software. Actions becomes a drag and drop item which can be added to the product workflow with the click of a mouse.
The second presenter of the night, Sean Wallbridge of itgroove, gave an overview of the new features of Microsoft SharePoint 2013. This was an extremely hands-on presentation with a lot of audience interaction. Attendees were treated to an extremely custom presentation that demonstrated answers to their questions as Sean used real-time examples directly from his corporate SharePoint 2013 site.
The excitement of seeing the new version of SharePoint in action meant the event went way over its typical wrap up time of 9pm. As always door prizes were won and pizza and pop was enjoyed by all.
