Although you could save a Microsoft Word document in PDF format in Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft has removed this option in Microsoft Office 2010.
Don’t worry! Converting documents to PDF format in Microsoft Word 2010 has not been removed, it’s just been moved. You can find the option in the Save As dialog box in the Save as type drop down menu.
If you own Microsoft Office 2007 – then you can actually save a document in PDF format in not only Word, but also in Access, Excel, InfoPath, OneNote, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Visio.
If you own Microsoft Office 2003 – you can’t save a document in PDF format in Microsoft Word 2003 without downloading a third party file converter tool.
